Thursday, Aug. 13 to Sunday, Aug. 16, 2020: Those are the new dates The Cloud Native Computing’s  KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2020, originally planned for this month, but canceled earlier this month due to the potential impact COVID-19 worldwide pandemic.

The dates, however, are contingent on being advised that it is safe to do so by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and The Netherlands Health Ministry. The event will be held at the RAI Amsterdam.

“If we determine that it is not safe or advisable to hold this event in-person, we will pivot to a virtual event on the same dates, with the same speakers and sessions, using an online platform that allows for interaction between all event participants,” the CNCF events team wrote an in an e-mail. In the case of going virtual, online platforms will be provided for attendee-to-speaker in keynotes and sessions, attendee-to-attendee in a virtual hallway track, and attendee-to-sponsor in a virtual sponsor showcase.

Current registrations will be automatically transferred to the new dates, though those that can not make these dates will be offered a full rebate up until Aug. 13.

The CNCF is currently looking into booking blocks of hotel rooms and is encouraging attendees to start booking airline reservations if possible, but to make them fully refundable, just in case.
