The upcoming KubeCon + CloudNative Con Europe on Aug. 17-20 will gather adopters and technologists to further the advancement of cloud native computing, and this year will be Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s (CNCF) first virtual event. With the expectation that it will be the biggest and best event to date, The New Stack team is excited to be part of it. We will be hosting our virtual Pancake & Podcast breakfast on Monday, Aug. 17 at 5 a.m. PST | 14:00 CEST, and streaming video interviews from our booth in the media and analyst exhibit hall where you can stop by and meet with our team.

For those of you who participated in our in-person pancake breakfasts KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe previously, we will deliver that same lively dialogue. Hear key insights from domain experts sharing what’s truly interesting about Kubernetes — the things that are placed on top of it that really count.

Here’s the plan:

The discussions:

Pancake & Podcast

For companies that are working to handle the new wave of cloud native applications, this Pancake Breakfast will bring you the latest insights of Kubernetes; we’ll discuss those technologies that are working but just reliable, boring and of no matter. On the flip side, we’ll also look at what technologies are still brewing and have not crossed the chasm to boring.

Moderated and hosted by The New Stack founder and publisher, Alex Williams, we’ll explore this discussion with panelists across the broad cloud native community including Priyanka Sharma, General Manager at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation, Janakiram MSV, an analyst at Janakiram & Associates, Patrick McFadin, Vice President of Developer Relations at DataStax and Bill Zajac, Regional Director, Solution Engineering at Dynatrace.

Join us, as we discuss the latest insights around Kubernetes deployments, its growth trajectory and adoption maturity. We’ll also explore the issues that make it difficult to adopt Kubernetes at a scale basis, and dive into the developer experience of application maintenance and management.

Virtual Days of Podcasts

When you swing by our booth, you can access our latest, on-demand video discussions, sponsored by CNCF. You’ll hear from leading industry experts like Cheryl Hung, vice president of ecosystem at CNCF, who will share insights from the latest CNCF Technology Radar, a guide on cloud native and Kubernetes technologies.

We’ll also be sharing market insights around platform operations with Janakiram MSV, Principal Analyst @ Janakiram & Associates. In this interview, we’ll look at its role with developers as well as configuration and policy management teams. We’ll discuss the tools and workflows that people in platform operations utilize in these complex architectures and the trajectory of the platform operations movement.

We’ll have much more insights from this sponsored podcast series by CNCF so bring your questions on by our booth. And join us for a (virtual) short stack as the industry’s top developers, end users and vendors come together in the largest open source developer conference!

The Prize

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, we are sharing the gift of giving. When you ask a question, you will be entered into a drawing for the opportunity to donate funds provided by The New Stack, in your name, to a nonprofit hospital or healthcare provider, or other relief efforts of your choice.

OFFICIAL VIRTUAL PANCAKES SWEEPSTAKES RULES

In concert with our virtual pancake breakfast at the KubeCon + CloudNative Con Europe, The New Stack will make a $250 donation to the nonprofit hospital, health care provider or relief effort of the winner’s choice, in the winner’s name. The New Stack will choose two winners. In total, The New Stack will donate $500 to the nonprofit organizations chosen by the winners.

Anyone may enter the contest starting on Monday, Aug. 3, by tweeting a question on Kubernetes to The New Stack’s Twitter handle, @thenewstack. Anyone who sends us a question will be entered into a random drawing to win. The New Stack will contact the winners with a direct message on Twitter to receive their name and email address.

The New Stack never has and never will share your personal information and will only use your email for the purposes of contacting the winner.

The likelihood of winning will depend on the total number of entrants, estimated to be in the 1/100 to 1/500 range.

The New Stack will choose a winner after the virtual event takes place, no later than August 30, 2020, through a random drawing of all entries. The winner will be notified via the email address they provide.
